This original illustration painting by Drew Brophy is Posca paint pen on Fredrix Canvas, sized 60″ x 40″, unframed.
Originally painted in 2015. (Note: The logo/watermark in the photo does NOT appear on the original painting)
Drew says of the inspiration for this painting: "When I lived on the North Shore of Hawaii in the mid 1990's, I would see packs of women show up to the beach with their body boards and fins. It seems like in that time period there was a huge explosion of women body boarding. It was cool to see. This painting is a memory I have of when the girls on the North Shore would be putting their fins on, before heading into the surf."

Beauty and the Beach

We purchased our first original from Drew at his Tiki Farm / Son of Sea studio back in 2005. Beauty and the Beach our 3rd original work in our collection. The digital picture is good. But it doesn't come close to color and depth the real work does under the toplight.
It is my favorite landscape and sea portrait in our collection. The image is simple, vibrant and relatable. I loose myself in this one as the connection sparks a feeling of joy that the surf at sunrise always does.
Over the years we have bought and sold works from other popular surf artists from around the world. It is obvious to me that no other artist in this genre has the wild and original imagination and raw talent that Drew does.
This is one that we plan to hold onto and enjoy for years to come.
